Priceless....

So as I was flicking thru the channels tonite...I came across this show that was asking people what the most important thing in their home was. This made me think a little...and then remember that I have one of the most important things (not counting people ie: family) right here in my apt!
Above is a peice of the World Trade Center that a Port Authority ESU cop gave me when I managed the territory of NJ. One of the officers working the pile was also a metal worker. When they took the I beams off the pile, he welded a cross for each ESU worker's badge #. My good friend Tibor gave me this one. I sometimes forget it is here. If anyone was to look at it...they would have no clue what it was...unless they read the note taped to the bottom. It is amazing that I have such a special and tragic peice of history right @ my desk. Interesting. Some day I might have to have it split so that I can give one half to my family. It is truly an amazing peice.
Well, off to bed.

That is beautiful. And I love the contrast between it and your speakers, kind of like the contrast between the Century21 dept store and Ground Zero itself. The place actually had a huge advertisement up outside the building that said "Fall into Century21". Yep... "fall"... right next-door to the spot where thousands jumped and/or fell to their deaths.
That being said, I do love the store, and if you've never been, when you move to the city, it'll have to be one of the first field trips I take you on!

hmm....never really thought of it like that...I just put it there so that I could always look at it when I am on the computer...perhaps I will have to move it so as not to offend anyone...
