I Was Treated Like A Queen.....

HOTEL.bmp

Ahhh.....this weekend was awesome! We ended up staying at the Netherland Omni (pic above) along with the Greenbay Packers...who were in town to get beat by Cinci.

We started our trip early Sat morning at Stanley J's (I swear..that is the name) for a quick lunch and then drove on up to Cinci for some shopping at Kenwood Towncenter. Around 6:00 we checked into the hotel and ended up being cramed in an elevator with a very strong man with more "bling" around his neck then I have ever seen (must have been a Packer.) We stayed in the room for a little then headed down to Palomino's for a wonderful dinner! After that...we were beat....so we turned in for the night! The next day we woke up ridicliously early (due to the time change) and took to the streets to find some breakfast. We ended up eating at the Cincinattian (sp?) which was wonderful. During our meal we saw the sea of green and yellow begining to take over the city...so we made an early get away and headed up to the outlets for some more shopping! The outlets were worth the drive. I found some great deals at Eddie Bauer, Ralph Lauren POLO, Banana Republic...etc. I think my winter shopping is just about done for now.

Now I am back at work......our costumes are awesome...we even have a car...I will post a pic once I get one.

I Did Not Steal Your Boyfriend.....

exxon.bmp

OK...I do not even know where to start. What has been going on this week?

First, Exxon's profits are friggin ridiclious. Everytime I go to the pump I get pissed. They are lucky that it is only $2.25 here now.

Second, since when do people get call for others to get "wiped off the map"? That is something. If there is a special request form that needs to be filled out.....someone send me a copy.

Other than that.....Anniversary Weekend begins in an hour...I am so excited. I made reservations at Palomino's in Cinci. It is above Tiffany's....so I am all for it! Plus, we can walk from the hotel. I really need this break...especially after today. Usually Fridays are nice and calm here in my office...but today has just been insane. I am yet to get my Wilma costume for Halloween.....going to hit up Halloween Express tonite....hopefully they will still have it.

On a final note...my friend Dave is teaching me how to shoot a gun. I am so excited. Everyone around here seems a little scared when we talk about it...but I am convinced I am a sharp shooter! We will see. John says that if I learn to shoot a gun he will be forced to purchase a Body Bunker ballistic sheild from work (we sell that stuff). He will appreciate it more when I have to save him sometime.....

YES!

barefootdreams2.bmp

Ahh...I am finally the proud owner of a Barefoot Dreams bathrobe. John bought it for me for our anniversary. It was one of those things I always looked at in stores, but would never purchase for myself. Don't worry...I am not getting all domestic....this thing was over $100.00! ( I still got it girls!) and it feels wonderful. I put it on after a shower and was out like 10 minutes later!

On Sat we go to Cinci for our anniversary celebration. Very excited. Other than that...it is 34 degees here....I am not amused. We did not really have a Fall season....we went straight from high 80's to mid 50's in a week! Of course, now everyone is sick here due to the drastic weather change......unreal. I went to the ol Endocronologist on Monday and he up'd my dose...so now I feel like crap. My hands are in so much pain they feel like they are going to split open! Hopefully this will pass in a few days.

Other than that....I am very disappointed in the World Series. It was crap...I did not watch one game. UK football is also crap...lol....so I am not going to the game this weekend. I cannot wait until basketball. At least my Fighting Irish are doing well!

Frost on the Windshield?

woohoo.bmp

OK, so I get up this morning...look out the window...and the thought "wow..frost?" crosses my mind...but then I dismiss it as a foggy bathroom window. Well....turns out it was friggin frost....not a fan...it is still October down here...we don't need that kind of crap.....

This weekend was pretty busy. I discovered that having 3 family members born in the month of Novermber can be quite expensive...especially with Christmas the next month. John ended up being around this weekend so now I have next weekend with my boy too! Very excited. We have our 2 year anniversary get away this weekend in Cinci...and I have found the perfect gift! On Saturday I did some window shopping. I found my dream jacket at the Limited..but I think I will wait until the $238.00 price tag comes down a little.

My new favorite TV show has to be Prison Break (see hottie above). What an awesome show...with a great plot (something you do not see anymore.) I was hooked. I do believe I am all caught up for the new episodes tonite. 2 hour special...watch it! My Fighting Irish also won this weeknd! Very happy to see that. Watched the final minutes at Harry's on Tates Creek with a bunch of Frat boys from Bama.....and with them beating up on Tenn...it was quite the fun time.

Well, that is about it.....

I WANT IT!

IWANTIT.bmp

Yes...I saw this in MACY's and am hooked! I don't know if I would want the green...but the tan is awesome!

In other news, here I sit in my office....it is fairly quiet...and I am drinking some water munching on a cookie :) I could really use a Starbucks No-fat Latte right about now. Hopefully Nikki will bring them in. Tomorrow is the big office Halloween party...and I am up a creek with a costume. To top that off...I have to get my hair done that evening. I was thinking about going to Louisville to just rest up....but once again it looks like I am too busy :( Perhaps I will go on Sunday.

Well, knowing that no one cares about any of that....here we go with something that is worthy of debate. Was it really necessary for an Arrest Warrant to be issued for Delay? Common now...that just seems a little extreme to me.

Oy...off to work I go.

Is That A Sample???

Afghan3.jpg

Special thanks to Weiss for the pic! I made sure to use one that would not compromise any missions! hehehehe

In other news...I am sick. I hate being sick..and I am sure everyone around me hates that I am sick. Nothing major...just stomache, nose, throat... I went to the doctor yesterday and she said it was a sinus infection and my thyroid. I really wonder if she listens AT ALL. She gave me a prescription....and I will probably get it filled tonight. I have no clue how a sinus infection can cause a stomache ache...but I do not have the PHD in my name...so I have no choice but to trust.

Still looking for a Halloween costume....not a fan of this holiday...but work is making it a major event...so now I am looking for a Wilma Flintstone get-up. Of course my office had to pick themes....oy!....pictures will follow.

Here We Go!

tonight.bmp

Well.....the disappointing thing is that there is no Midnight Madness anymore.......however....we do have Big Blue Madness....which is at 9 tonite @ Rupp. How exciting... Basketball season is offically around the corner! If we do not win it this year....I think I will just give up. BUT I do believe we have a VERY strong team......so be prepared to be CRUSHED and EMBARASSED! If we are playing during Thanksgiving break....you might want to avoid me...I will show no mercy.

Oh..and did I mention it is FRIDAY! This has been the longest week....so I am literally counting down the hours until Mierkas tonite. The original plan for the weeked was to go shoping....however it seems that golf and Keenland sound better (anyone who has seen me at the driving range would think otherwise...). Next week is John and I's 2 year anniversary! I cannot believe it. We are actually going to spend the weekend shopping in Cinci the weekend after that (can you tell who's idea that was?) I have no clue what I am going to get him....but I have a few ideas. Anyone from KY that is reading this...ask me what I want...so I can tell you...and then you can tell him! hehehehe

Well....off to work I go.

We Are Burning.....

imageek.jpg
OK....so everyone knows that deep down inside I am a hockey geek....and it most likely dates back to my Sophomore year in College...when I was dating this sweet Delt...who had a frat brother named Lloyd Calloway....who was a major cutie! (and yes...if he ever Googles his name...here he will be going "no way!") Well, all it took was seeing him coming back from a practice just once (yes...even though he smelled) and heading for the shower...and I was hooked!!!! As we all know.... I contuined to dip my feet into the hockey water after that...but the outcome was rather negative. Anyhow....so....I have the warped idea that I am an expert in the sport...I watch it...I am from a cold area...I like to hit things....and I fit well into a hockey bag (also found that out Sophomore year on a trip for Donavan Hall to Haggin Hall in a certain Goalies bag....pewwe! and the stairs hurt quite a bit!). But if I could...I would so suit up and try to play. Too bad I am in Kentucky....and you just don't play hockey in KY....oh well..perhaps when I get back to the Motherland :) So of course I should be good at any hockey video game that comes out...right???...well it turns out that I am not.....I do believe my dreams of the NHL were shattered by a 15 year old kid on Saturday afternoon...how sad.......that almost sums up my weekend.

In other news, work has offically turned into a circus. I do not know what is going on with some of the people making decisions....so I just walk into the office smiling everyday and hope no one notices. However, we did have our off site meeting yesterday...and of course, like every other time we all get together...there was lots of drinking afterwards :P I did hear a story about a new girl...too much drinking....falling over the bar...pics of her underware.....and passing out..having to be put into the car by an ex-federal agent..so on and so on......however, being the lamo that I am....I left after 2 drinks and headed to Pilates class. I cannot believe I missed that one! Well...there is always FRIDAY! Hehehehe....good times...good times.

On a more personal note...I have a new mission... to find a cure for CVID...which someone I know has......however...I am finding it hard to find any info on it. I have known this person for years....and always thought something was wrong with them...to the point where it bothered me.....so I kept asking them...until I finally drove them up the wall and found out this weekend. Now...I think it would be fair to say that I did not always wish the best for this person over the years...and that is probably causing some of my guilt....but finding out still broke my heart. It must be a woman thing....but I feel like a little peice of me is dying...I want to help them...hell...it is fair to say I would do anything to cure them...but there is just not a lot out there about the disease. Now don't get the wrong idea here people....we are just buds.... but it is a weird/scary feeling when you think someone is sick for so long and it turns out they are! I feel like since I had the "feeling" I should be able to do something....anything to help at all. What worries me even more is that they do not seem to be too worried about it on the outside. Should I kick their a$$?....kidnap them and drag them to a REAL doctor in NYC?....just be there and do nothing? I am torn....email me with advice. I tell you...makes allergies look like a walk in the park. This person is truly amazing...I do not think they know how worried I am....but I guess that is not something you can tell someone....it would be too weird I guess..... I think they would get the wrong idea...

Use The Force.....

DOG.bmp

Ok, everyone....listen up! It has taken almost 25 years for me to realize the importance of donating blood/plasma....but I finally have. I found out this weekend that I have a sick friend who needs plasma every 3 weeks just to keep healthy and living. I never realized how expensive and important this blood can be. With the holidays (aka..dangerous driving weather) ahead everyone should get out and donate. You never know when a friend will need it! I just hope mine lets me help and asks me to donate for him (*hint hint*)

It Is Keenland Time

Alcibiades1.jpg

This has to be one of the best things about Kentucky! Keenland (especially the first weekend) is the social event of the Fall. Southern Kentucky tradition at its best! It is only open about 5 weeks each year for the Spring Meets and the Fall Meets. Everyone heads out early for a little tailgating...then off to the Padock to pick your horse! The track is beautiful...and unlike Churchill Downs..is not in the middle of a big city. Atire is very much like the Derby....a cute little black and white magnolia strapless dress with a black hat and you are set for the day...until you head out for a night on the town....but I think I will just hang low tonite. However, this weekend has been cold and cloudy so a jacket is needed....hopefully next weekend will be better! My poor buddy Nikki spent probably a month figuring out what she was going to wear today....and ended up having a reaction to something and is stuck on the couch! I feel so bad. It is on TV girlie!

Things Are Finally Calming Down

fishmarketout.jpg

Yes....I miss that place so much!

Well....the work week has finally come to an end....and I am exhausted. I had to fit 5 working days into 3....which is not that easy.

I really did not get to expand too much on DC...but it was a blast. We also got to go to the WWII and FDR memorials...so that was fun. Dad and Jake bought me the most perfect earrings ever and I knocked down my dads b-day gift shopping at the ol Scottish Merchant. Hit up a knitting shop (that is my new thing now) but did not see anything I could live without. Decided I could never live in DC because of the Beltway alone.......but would go back in a heartbeat!

A position at work for an outside person in NY will probably open up next week. I am so applying for it...wish me luck.

These Shoes Were Made For Walking.....

http://www.recordonline.com/archive/2005/10/05/superrac.htm

Everyone must read.

Back from DC. It was a blast. We were in Old Town Alexandria at the Fish Market at one point in time everyday! Ofcourse, I forgot Weiss's number...and since he did not call me...we will call it a draw.

Well, it took me 9 hours to get home due to traffic yesterday....so a better post will follow....too tired...must veg out.
